Toyota Land Cruiser

I have a Toyota Landcruiser 8 cylinders, engine type 1fz chassis fzj809010011 of the year 97, 4500cm3, a week attract a macanic replace the straps that allow turning the fan with the alternator, it seems that I do not install them well because in the end the blades not being well tempered with their respective pulley broke the radiator how these straps are correctly installed.
