Thermostat published by Manual-Mecanica
Friends, I have a VW Suran Argentino, Diesel, 2008 model with 92000 km, the restlessness is if the thermostat should be changed as a preventive measure, I know that thermostats after a time of use are "looked", sometimes they are open and sometimes they get closed. The doubt is how often it is necessary to change them, in this case it has the thermostat that it brings from the factory that normally is the best quality, I do not know if I will achieve the same brand, and even so, sometimes the original equipment has better quality than the one bought in the trade, even if it is of the same brand.
I await your comments, a great greeting
Rodolfo

Manual-Mecanica Response on the thermostat
Hello, the thermostat as long as the car does not warm you or you would not exchange it. My car now has 250,000 km and so far never changed it. Now it is true that when under a port or a drop the temperature is lowered to 80 degrees or 75 degrees and then if I am thinking of changing it or at least looking at it. As long as you do not notice anything weird in the temperature, it is not worth changing it. All the best

Manual-Mecanica Response on the thermostat
Excuse me for recently responding but with respect to thermostat if your engine takes a lot to heat it is possible that you change because it will consume you much more fuel is a gasoline or diesel car. I hope helped, better late than ever

Manual-Mecanica Response on the thermostat
The theme of the thermostat is half screwed, if you do not fail it, if you want to change it by maintenance you can do it, there is no problem, but eye in Volkswagen it is very important that the thermostat is installed, unlike the other vehicles that do not matter if they are or not in VW and models that bring double body thermostat it has to be mounted if or if.
