NISSAN DIESEL DY25DDTI Lubrication Published by Manual-Mecanica
Cordial greeting for all.

I would like to comment with you my impressions regarding Nissan's recommendation for Dy25ddi diesel engines lubrication.

As an advisor to JR lubrication, the problem of issuing a recommendation for vehicles with this engine was presented to me.

After considering the situation, it recommends a Diesel product of CJ classification, omit my brand because for now it does not come to mind, with the surprise that my recommendation was received with a little skepticism, since Nissan (and apparently not only in Mexico) recommends
a CF-4 lubricant.

When this was commented on, I gave myself the task of concentrating technical documentation that would support my recommendation, finding an API bulletin in which the output of the CF-4 specification is mentioned, coupled with the fact that after June of this year, no lubricant could hold within the API donut the CF-4 brand.

This same document mentioned that CF-4 was a specification that could be safely replaced with a lubricant API CH-4 classification.

I have continued to review the technical literaure of the subject, however, there is nothing that makes me think that CF-4 is superior in some performance characteristic to a CI or CJ lubricant.

In addition to the above, it is necessary to remember the environmental type specifications that diesel engines have after 2007.

I don't think Nissan does not know any of the above and that is what I would like to know the criteria used by the Nissan Engineering Department to choose CF-4 on CJ.
