At the moment the best thing you could do would be to look if there is any fault code memorized in the switchboard, since if Ronco sounds, it means that either the diesel is entering early, or the spray is not good.
In the case of Common Rail systems, it is very difficult for the spray to be bad because of the pressure to work (even turning during starting spray very well).
So it may be that the camshaft phase sensor is bad, or that the distribution strap is weeding, or if you have changed it, it may be excessively tensioned.
It can also have a lot to do with motor and diesel temperature probes, since with that information the switchboard advances and doses the exact amount of diesel per cycle.
That is why I think the first thing is to put the diagnosis and check the real values with which the switchboard is working and whether or not there are memorized fault codes.
