2003 Almera Board

Please help, I just buy a 2003 Almera for my son and see that he has a part of the digital board, my question is whether that part of the board must illuminate at night, along with the entire board? Because when you turn on the lights, only the instrument board is illuminated less that part, and in the manuals no explanation comes in advance
