Several problems in my renault megane published by Manual-Mecanica
Hello good, I have two problems that I hope can solve me:

the first is that I have the cracked exhaust collector and my question is that if with some type of welding I could do the Apaño to not have to buy a new one because that does not interest me to be a car with 13 years.

I have knowledge of welding with electrodes and if the collector is a piece of foundry, it could weld the cracks first bevel and then making a seam with basic electrodes.

The second is that having the light that indicates the gas reserve, it does not turn on. The problem is from the aforerator I suppose even if the needle if I perfectly mark the amount of fuel that I have although when the light comes to the light it does not turn on. How could I solve it? Buying a new one or this can be fixed ???

Thank you very much for reading me, greetings!

Good compi, of course you can weld the escape, just stick an emelled and go burn !!!!! (of course so that you will have to remove it from the machine). Disagree-Safe compi

Hello and thanks for your answer.

For the escape theme, if I will have to remove it from the car. I am looking at the workshop manual and good in principle does not seem very difficult to remove, it is the screws that anchor the motor block and those that binds them to the catalyst.

As you say, I will have to give me an emery and make a small bevel to get a good cord. I will have to buy foundation electrodes and in principle I would like to screw the piece to some piece of metal to avoid possible deformities with heat and then do not attach well.

As is logical, I will have to buy a new meeting.

I comment this in case you can add something more or something that you do not believe that it is necessary or could improve.

Thank you all!

My friend, it is not necessary to anchor anything since the escape is supports great temperatures, forget because it does not deform. If you can do it with foundation electrodes, perfect, but I tell you that normal are going from movie, just give a good amperage to the welder, in the workshop we weld a few.

Hello again!

Then because of the issue of deformations I carefully. Perfect.

For the issue of electrodes if I did not get them specific for the foundry, would you recommend "basic" coating electrodes of 3'25mm for example? These if I am not mistaken are the designation "7018"

I hope this does not sound Chinese because they are designations used in Europe although the creators of this designation are the Yankees if I am not mistaken, I hope you use the same ones if you do not often mess! he he
