Manual-Mecanica Response on the Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI
I do not have Ismael at all, I have offended me, I appreciate your advice, what I wanted to tell you is that of course I will put the necessary blocking tools if not I would do it, the only doubt was because asking the detail of taking out the pulley to place the belt as Autodata says one told me that it could be done without taking it out and another that advised me to do it because of the tensioned homogenium and placement easier

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI
hello. I am very attention what you ask. In the time that I have been working on this I have ever had to take out the piñón from the camshaft neither with a key nor conical from any engine for a belt change ... I do not see necessary to do it, nor such special tools to change a time band ... only locates the corresponding marks in the same camshaft, crankshaft or injecting pump if applicable ... remember that every engine brings its manufacturing marks either in the same pine of change boxes. luck

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI
Hi Mov1973, with respect to what he claims to disassemble the pulley to walk what Correnponda seems reasonable to me. What Ismael53 says is Cietro, before as you say marbas and voila, however in many modern engines the manufacturer recommends to lock cams and crankshaft to change distribution strap. (Useful for this purpose). For example, a case in Renault K4M, if you extract the strap without blocking the cams, you are by action of the valve springs tends to rotate, if they do, they touch each other and bend (the valves), I have seen that case many times especially in modern dohc engines that by the disposition of the valves, and close to these with the piston, it is unreasonable to follow the instructions of the manufacturer. The other one that happens in many cases if the crankshaft does not obstruct and this one has no key (conico) when tightening "the PMS cylinder 1 is" run "with respect to the cams, if additionally the engine has a variable distribution, it can even" position the plays.

Hi Mov1973 I am totally with you those that I have changed I have never needed pine nuts to change distribution, but when you are going to change strap where you go first it is to self -destroy to guide you in the marks and in this particular one I think that I said that you had to take out such cams Homogeneous tensioned others that are not necessary and even found a page on the Internet where it went step by step and with photos how distribution was changed in this specific engine and not at all pulled pulley only marked all the brands with typ
