It seems that the worst of the heat wave has happened, but the fires are a sum and continues with more than 215,000 hectares calcined so far from 2022, the worst year calcined surface of the last 30 years.

This year it seems to be an Annus Horribilis in terms of forest fires. To July 19 we had more than 1600 forest fires, the last incorporation of two fires in the Malaga towns of Estepona and Benahavís.

Many of the active fires greatly concern, especially the Valencia fire due to the atmospheric and steep instability of the terrain.

Worst of all, apparently, several of the last fires are suspected that they are intentionally, such as Tenerife and two of the three that affect Castilla y León.

Hopefully atmospheric conditions will be improving, although with the current drought that prevails in Spain, almost likely the fires will continue to proliferate.
