Did you know that Škoda Auto has a museum in the Czech Republic? The car firm has a space (where the first ŠKODA factory) was located in which it makes its history, development and production known. The museum is currently in a remodeling process, to incorporate the latest interactive and communication techniques, with the aim of presenting the history of Škoda from different points of view and attracting a varied audience. This remodeling will end in December 2012.
Under an area of 1,800 m2 the ŠKODA Museum will house 45 cars and motorcycles, as well as a wide range of other elements related to the company's history. The museum will always surprise the visitor, for this, škoda restored vehicles will regularly integrate into the exhibition. The alternation of models will encourage visitors to return to the museum, located right next to the Škoda main floor in Mladá Boleslav.
Other thematic exhibitions and an attractive conferences program will ensure that the museum makes a significant contribution to the corporate culture of Škoda and the public life of Mladá Boleslav.
The remodeling of the ŠKODA Museum will also have a key role in the communication of the brand. The attractive design and clear structure of the museum reflect the fundamental values of the brand: focus on the essentials, a mentality centered on people and the surprise element with details "Simply Clever".
Three thematic areas of the ŠKODA Museum
The škoda museum will be divided into three areas that will guide the visitor through the history of the company and the development of vehicles:
- Area "Tradition": Expose automobile jewelry from different eras. The visitor will not only find attractive vehicles, also interesting contrasts. Historical vehicles will be exhibited in pairs to show visitors the trends in car development. Other objects exposed in showcases, murals with graphics and a permanent video presentation supply more information.
- Area "Evolution": It offers a review of the history of Škoda starting with the founders of the company, Václav Klement and Václav Laurin. Vehicles, in chronological order, illustrate the most important milestones in the development of vehicles. The space also presents a parallel series of images and objects that show the history of technical developments. The so -called "Škoda Lab" also provides a look at the future, while the adjacent library allows deeper research on the history of the brand.
- Area "Production and Restoration": Centered on the key role of Mladá Boleslav as a central location of production and source of the company's tradition. In the "workshop", the oldest cars will be restored through the latest techniques. Four high platforms will exhibit vehicles in different phases of the restoration process, from newly arrived vehicles to the final result, with other objects exposed in a work bank.
