    • Renault has been measuring since 1995 the total environmental impact of its vehicle throughout all stages of life. The flag bearer of this environmental mobilization is the 100% electric vehicle. To celebrate the four years of its environmental signature, Renault hardens the criteria that it requires its vehicles to carry the banner of

Eco2 efficiency

    • , despite the fact that the British NGO Environmental Investment Organization has appointed him as

"The company that emits less CO2."

In addition to its commitment to offer a range of electric vehicles available to everyone, Renault undertakes to reduce the impact of the car on the environment at each stage of its life cycle. Upon completing the four years of existence of its environmental badge, Renault hardens the criteria to be followed by the cheapest and ecological vehicles of Renault and Dacia.

Therefore, from now on, the requirements that a vehicle must meet so that it can be accepted as an ecological vehicle are the following:
• Be manufactured in an ISO 14001 certified plant (it is maintained),
• emit less than 120 g CO2 / km. (Before 140 g) or function with biofuels,
• contain at least 7% of recycled plastics (before 5%) and that 95% of its mass is recyclable ( maintains).

A star vehicle of this environmental policy is the Renault Twingo DCI, whose CO2 emissions in use have passed in two years from 104 to 90 g/km. (reduction of more than 13%).

Commitment to the carbon footprint
The carbon footprint represents the greenhouse gases emitted in each of the stages of the life of the car, from the extraction of the raw materials, until the end of its useful life.

Within the framework of the “Renault 2016 - Drive the Change” Strategic Plan, Renault has pledged to reduce its carbon footprint by 10% to 2013 and an additional 10% between 2013 and 2016.

Renault works permanently in the reduction of CO2 emissions of its vehicles: of the 135 g/km. Current, the European Renault range must move to an average of 120 g/km. in 2013 and less than 100 g/km. In 2016. Thanks to this effort, Renault has obtained, in April 2011, the European Sustainable Energy Award in the production category, thanks to its Tangier Factory (Morocco).
