The Volkswagen, Toyota and Lexus models took the first positions among the most respectful of the environment of the Ecological Cars list of the 2012/2013 report published by the German Traffic Club (Verkehrsclub Deutschland, VCD).
Coroning the general classification the Volkswagen Eco Up! It is in the first place, followed by the Lexus CT 200H and different models of Toyota.
In the “Compact category”, the Lexus CT 200H was in the first position with a score of 7.83 in the classification of the report, while the current generation of the Toyota Auris Hybrid was second with 7.33 points.
The Toyota Prius and the recently launched Toyota Prius+, seven seats, were first and second respectively in the “family vehicle” category.
Toyota's latest incorporation into the PRIus family, the PRIus+, also headed the category of seven -seater models with a score of 7.38.
The Toyota Yaris Hybrid, launched earlier this year and manufactured in France, occupied the first position among the most respectful of the environment, with CO2 emissions of only 79 g/km. The Lexus CT 200H continues to maintain the good result of last year, and reaches sixth place, with CO2 emissions only 87 g/km.
The German Traffic Club (VCD) is a non -profit organization that promotes sustainable mobility from the environmental and social point of view. The entity published the list of ecological cars (sending Car List) for the first time in 1989, the year of its foundation. The report evaluation criteria are based on the following factors: 60% in CO2 emissions; 20% in noise pollution; 15% in harmful emissions (eg particles, NO2, NOX), and 5% on the environmental impact (eg nox).
