The Porsche Spyder 918 is a high -tech sports car that defines Porsche's vision of hybrid technology.

The tests of the Spyder 918 prototype follow, whose production is expected to begin in September 2013 and its commercialization occurs just before the end of the same year. "What we are doing with Spyder 918 is to redefine the fun of driving and efficiency," says Wolfgang Hatz, a member of the management team of the Porsche Research and Development Department.

The appearance of Spyder 918 prototypes borrows its image to the antigüo historical racing model: the Porsche 917.

Spyder 918 is designed as a hybrid vehicle that combines a high -performance combustion engine with state -of -the -art technology for electric motors. The result? A engine of more than 770 horses with a consumption of 3 liters per 100 kilometers. In addition, the new Porsche Spyder 918 is manufactured in complete carbon fiber of reinforced plastic (CFRP) with monocasco unit support and has a totally adaptable aerodynamics.
