The Oldimer Center is a center where from now on the possibility of factory restoration of Volkswagen historical models to external clients, including detailed documentation.
To fulfill this purpose, the Volkswagen Oldimer section, which was founded five years ago, moved to a new building in Hanover in early 2012. An area of about 7,000 m2 that houses, in addition to classic vans, a wide machinery workshop with a molding bank of metal sheets, lathes and milling machines and even its own paint workshop. Currently, the department has 13 workers, counting mechanics, a technological historian and an event planner.
Volkswagen's classic vans owners can already restore it here, instead. It doesn't matter if they require partial or total restoration, or if a bus is simply needed to circulate. It is also possible to renew the paint or make an inspection of the vehicle. The template analyzes and comments on all personal restoration desires with the client before preparing a tailored offer for each case.
The characteristic that makes this Oldtimer Center unique, is that only here the client will receive an original factory certified restoration. In addition, the team supplies each client a thorough documentation of the restoration of their van, in which each step is documented by photographs and described in detail.
In this way, the work of Hanover's specialists is registered for posterity, and customers can leaf through their report every time they wish. In addition, many of the spare parts that are needed for the restoration of these classic vans, are acquired from the original Volkswagen stock, thanks to the collaboration of Volkswagen Classic Parts.
