Bulletin

Nissan has revealed the first details of a prototype that anticipates the next generation of European segment B, a new Nissan that will be sold next to the urban Micra and Juke.

Called Invitation, this dynamic concept shows some of the innovations and the design that the new model will release, whose launch in Europe is scheduled for 2013.

Dynamism in its design

The invitation has an energetic design. The clean fluidity of its silhouette, underlines an aerodynamics that will behave greater efficiency.

Inside, a fresh and open cabin combines practicality and modernity with impressive levels of quality and technological equipment.

Benefits and efficiency

With the combination of the advanced motor technology, the acclaimed Nissan's light platform and an efficient body at the aerodynamic level, Nissan intends to obtain ultra-low emissions of CO2 with the best version, below 100 g/km. In addition, it is expected that the entire range meets the conditions to exhibit the Nissan Pure Drive logo.

At the same time, his agile response at the wheel will ensure dynamic behavior.

As the micra, the invitation uses the new light platform V, developed to provide maximum rigidity, achieve excellent dynamic behavior and refined driving, but at the same time, with the least possible weight, which translates into an improvement in benefits and in a reduction of consumption and emissions.

The front suspension is independent of McPherson type with docks, while on the rear axle, the car has a compact torsion bar to minimize the intrusion of the suspension in the space destined for the trunk. Both suspension systems are mounted in two sub-chassis, which isolates the body of noise and vibrations. The invitation dimensions are 4,150 mm long by 1,740 mm wide and 1,470 mm high.

Advanced security technology

The invitation includes the 360º Vision Chamber System (Around View Monitor - AVM) that facilitates all types of maneuvers to maximum, including those of parking and reverse circulation. In addition, the invitation incorporates the technologies "Nissan Safety Shield", which interact with the driver and warn him of everything that happens around the car.

British manufacturing
production will be carried out at the plant that Nissan has in Sunderland, the United Kingdom. This model will be manufactured together with the popular Crossover Juke and will compete in segment B.

In addition to the assembly of the vehicle, the Sunderland factory will also be in charge of the production of the axis, the foundry of the engine cylinder head, the manufacture of the camshaft and the assembly of the engine, which represents a total investment of 125 million pounds by Nissan in the United Kingdom.

The project will also receive a help of 9.3 million pounds from the Regional Growth Fund of the British Government.

It is estimated that the new model will have an initial annual volume of about 100,000 units, depending on the market demand. This will help confirm Sunderland as the largest car factory in the United Kingdom.

Trevor Mann, Senior Vice President of Nissan Production in the United Kingdom, has stated: "This factory has 20 years of experience in the production of successful compact cars, a story that goes back to the first micra, which came out in 1992."
