ŠKODA continues with its launch offensive with the introduction of the seventh model of its range. With the Citigo, 3.56 meters long, the manufacturer of Mladá Boleslav enters the A00 segment. In Europe this model will be launched in early 2012.
"The cytigo despite its small size, offers ample interior space, is surprisingly agile, and also attractive in terms of materials and technologies.
Designers have managed to give the vehicle a distinctive aspect, which at first glance shows the new ŠKODA design. The refined radiator grill inside a silver chrome frame and the molded front headlights give the vehicle the typical Škoda look. With a length of 3.56 m, 1.65 m wide and a height of 1.48 m, Citigo is one of the smallest vehicles in its segment. The boot volume is 251 liters, but it can extend to 951 liters by folding the rear seats.
Citigo is designed for young drivers, young families looking for a second or third vehicle and also dynamic older people. They are clients who, on the one hand, care about costs and have a rational approach to cars, but on the other, they seek quality, practicality, design and security. Škoda did not have any vehicle in this segment. Vahland explains: "We attend an increase in the demand for small low consumption vehicles, with reasonable content and reasonable operating costs. The new ŠKODA vehicle is our reaction to this trend. We are going to step on a new land and the cytigo will attract many new customers, especially in our European markets." Citigo puts a great emphasis on security. For the first time in a škoda vehicle, designers have used a side-roos side airbag to protect driver and companion heads, which together with other elements form an exemplary safety package in their class. In addition, active security is reinforced with the new braking assistant "City Safe Drive". The system is automatically activated at speeds below 30 km/Hy a laser sensor identifies collision dangers. Together with the Volkswagen Up!, Citigo is currently the only segment vehicle to offer this functionality.
Two new 1.0 Three -cylinder gasoline engines will be available after the launch of the Citigo, with 60 and 75 hp powers. Consumption and emissions are 4.5 liters at 100 km. and 105 g/km CO2 for the 60 hp engine, and 4.7 liters at 100 km. and 108 g/km CO2 for the 75 hp engine. In the economic versions Green Tec, the consumption is 4.2 and 4.3 liters to 100 kilometers, respectively and the emissions are 97 and 99 g/km of CO2, respectively.
