The manufacturers of this beauty on wheels have wanted to increase their measures, giving more place to the trunk, as well as at its height and width. The most powerful version appears under the Manto del Sdrive 35i of 306 hp, and has already been presented at the Detroit Motor Show. Among the most innovative aspects of this car is the new retractable hard roof, replacing the canvas, which will only take twenty seconds to open and close. This is intended to improve both security and the comfort of use, since it will not be necessary to acquire or place the hard top , when the weather does not accompany.

In addition to the innovative of the ceiling, all vehicle measures will increase: the length is 4'23 meters (previously 4'09 m), the 1'79 meters width (compared to the previous 1'78 m), and the height is 1'29 meters (leaving behind the 1'26 m).

A new dynamic control system will allow the driver to change the adjustment of the chassis in three positions, in addition to being able to modify the programming of the accelerator pedal, the servo-direction, the engine and the change of automatic gear. All propelling include a six -speed manual gearbox. The most powerful version is the SDRive 35i of 306 hp, which can wear a DKG, double clutch and seven gears box. It will also include cams on the steering wheel.

This BMW creation will use, initially, a total of three engines that will be formed by six online cylinders: the SDRive 35i (306 hp), the SDRive 30I (258 hp) and the SDRive 23i (204 hp), although the firm does not rule out makes cheaper versions in the future.

The second generation of the expected Z4, which replaces the current Roadster and Coupé, was presented at the Detroit Motor Show, and will reach Spanish dealers during the month of May with quite contained prices that will start from 39,000 euros.
