During 2012, 208 will premiere Peugeot Connect Apps, which will be added to Peugeot Connect SOS and Peugeot Connect Assistance services. Combined with the touch screen, Peugeot Connect Apps offers a new dimension of useful and practical functionalities for day to day.
To start this service, it will be enough for the user to connect their Peugeot Connect connection key in the USB port to access this new universe through the touch screen.
With the Plug & Play system, the key is automatically identified allowing a menu to activate on the screen that gives applications that use vehicle data, such as instantaneous speed, mileage, autonomy, or GPS position, to provide useful information. For obvious reasons of security, some functions can only be used with the standing engine.
Peugeot Connect Apps is a completely integrated solution that offers the user the possibility of starting navigation towards a POI presented by applications or calling through the Bluetooth of your phone. For example, POI can be a restaurant, a tourist location, a service station, a Peugeot point of sale or many other things. This service works in 7 countries.
At the time of launch, nine applications will be available. Subsequently, Peugeot Connect Apps will evolve regularly.
Current system applications
Mypeugeot : This application allows the customer to know everything about their car: user manual, maintenance plan, accessories offer, service contracts. It also allows you to send mileage data to the Mypeugeot page or locate a point of sale.
Michelin Traffic : Informs in real time the state of traffic (traffic jams, slow traffic, works.) The user obtains detailed information from each problem by pressing on each of the icons. The "Commuter" function proposes up to three alternative itineraries depending on the traffic status.
Fuel : This application locates the service stations and indicates the available benefits. The fuel price is activated in real price, which allows a classification according to that criterion. Being participatory, it facilitates the user to register the evolution verified of prices. In addition, it allows to verify fuel spending (cost, consumption).
Parking : This application shows the location of parkings, both public and private, as well as their rates and services. It is an application reports, through a color code, and in real time, of the availability of places.
Michelin Guide : Adaptation for Peugeot Connect Apps of the famous red guide. Updated constantly, this application proposes a selection of restaurants and hotels with its rates, valuation, opening days and services offered. With this, the user will always have the best information to choose the best establishments.
Michelin Journey : This application provides all useful data on tourist interests both near the vehicle and destination. With photographs, descriptions, rates, valuation, opening days and services offered.
Tellmewhere : The social application "Tellmewhere" allows you to discover the best valued addresses by Internet users and give access to opinions on showrooms, museums, shops and any other type of POI that is needed. The user has, of course, the possibility of commenting those same addresses.
Viamichelin : Developed exclusively by Michelin for Peugeot, offers a visual guide option (without cartography), very useful for vehicles not equipped with navigation system. The user can choose between three itinerary proposals with information about the distance, the traffic in real time, the time of arrival and the price of the tolls.
Meteorology : To know everything about time (minimal and maximum temperatures, current time, forecast) both at the point where the vehicle is located and at any other location.
At the time of signing the contract, the client acquires a pack, which includes the Peugeot Connect connection key and a year of service. This service includes the use of the 3G/2G network (according to coverage) linked to the use of the application, without limit, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day in the 17 countries. The subscriber of the contract will not pay any additional cost for “roaming” when using Peugeot Connect Apps in a country other than its residence.
The price of the pack The first year will be less than 350 euros and the renewal for a period of 12 months, it will cost less than 150 euros.
