Redouting CO2 emissions and fuel consumption is Peugeot's challenge. From 2011 to May 2012, its average emission has fallen from 128.6 g/km from CO2 to 125.2. Or what is the same, 79% of Peugeot vehicles emit less than 140 g/km of CO2.
However, for 2015 Peugeot has set a more ambitious objective yet: to broadcast an average of less than 116 g/km of CO2. For this, their engineers work on different fronts: the association of diesel engines and electricity, represented by Hybrid4 technology; the lightening of the cars of its range and their reduction in size; a new generation of 3 -cylinder gasoline engines; and the second generation Stop & Start E-HDI.
Thermal motors thus receive permanent improvements, as are diesel 1.6 HDI and 1.6 e-HDI manufactured in the modern French French factory of Trémery, in the Mosella region.
New technologies at the service of efficiency
to offer vehicles with CO2 emissions and reduced fuel consumption, diesel engines 1.6 HDI and 1.6 E-HDI have received new technological contributions:
- A new variable flow oil pump, which allows the motor effort to be strictly necessary.
- New motor oils and low viscosity gearbox, which reduce mechanical friction losses.
- Some new generation crankshaft pages, which decrease the tightening effort and, with it, friction.
- A brave pulley of the redesigned alternator to reduce its tension.
- A low friction vacuum pump to avoid energy losses
In some versions, these motor evolutions are complemented with an aerodynamic kit (spoiler, lower fairing), and low or ultra-low rolling resistance tires. These elements contribute decisively to optimize mechanical performance, actively participating in the general reduction of consumption and emissions.
In this way, the new approved CO2 emissions for Peugeot are the following:
- 208 1.6 E-HDI 92 hp, 5-speed manual box: 90 g/km and 3.5 l/100 km
- 308 1.6 E-HDI 112 hp, 6-speed manual box: 100 g/km and 3.8 l/100 km
- 508 1.6 E-HDI 115 hp, 6-speed piloting box: 104 g/km and 4 l/100 km (508 SW: 105 g/km, 4l/100km)
- 508 1.6 HDI 115 hp, 5 -speed manual box: 114 g/km and 4.4 l/100 km (508 SW: 115 g/km, 4.5 l/100 km)
- 3008 1.6 HDI 115 hp, 6 -speed manual box: 125 g/km and 4.8 l/100 km, with 16 or 17 '' tires; 127 g/km and 4.9 l/100 km with 18 '' tires
- 5008 1.6 HDI 115 hp, 6 -speed piloted box, 5 plates: 119 g/km in 17 and 18 ''
- 5008 1.6 HDI 115 hp, 6 -speed piloted box, 7 place: 117 g/km in 16 ''; 126 g/km in 17 and 18 ”
