Škoda Auto has started the production of a test fleet of ten Octavia Green and Line. Vehicles will be used to collect information on the usability, reliability and safety of electric vehicles under real traffic conditions. The Octavia Green E Line is the first vehicle with 100% electric propulsion of škoda and follows the strategy of the brand focused on the production of vehicles respectful of the environment.
The first Octavia Green and Line will be in circulation on the roads this fall. The drivers will recognize them for their design and a new safety element, a sound generator that simulates the noise of an engine at a speed of 40 km/h. Experts believe that electric vehicles will have an increasingly important role in reducing CO2 emissions.
The Octavia Green E Line is based on the škoda Octavia Combi since the modular design of the soil of this vehicle offers an ideal space to house the batteries, electronic control and electric motor with a constant power of 60 kW and a maximum of 85 kW. In the development of this vehicle, Škoda has also used some already existing modules of the Volkswagen Group. The maximum torque of 270 Nm, available just after starting as is typical of this type of propulsion, offers the vehicle enough power to move and a high degree of agility and response, that the driver will appreciate when he accelerates in the dense traffic of the city. The Octavia Green E Line, with an autonomy of 150 kilometers, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 12 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 135 km/h. The electricity is supplied by a modern lithium battery (26.5 kWh) that is composed of 180 lithium ion batteries, weighs about 315 kilos and recovers the energy when the driver slows with the engine.
