I am experiencing an annoying problem with my Ford Ecosport 1500cc of 2015, with gasoline engine, and I am looking for some guidance and advice of the experts here. The problem lies in what occasionally my vehicle refuses to start, even though I have changed the battery recently. Initially, I thought the problem was related to the battery, since it is common for this component to fail and affect the start of the car.

However, after replacing the battery, the problems persist. It is curious that if I leave the car unused for several hours or if I use cables to give it an impulse, the engine finally starts and I can continue with my trip. This pattern has been repeated approximately every two months, which is quite frustrating.

I would like to know if someone has faced a similar situation with their Ford Ecosport of 2015 or if you have any idea what this intermittent start problem could be causing. I appreciate any suggestion, advice or experience they can share. Thanks in advance for your help!

I regret that you are having this problem with your Ford Ecosport.
From what you describe, it seems that the problem is not related to the battery, but to some other electrical or electronic component that affects the start of the engine. Some possible causes are:

a failure in the start button or in the key recognition system.
A false contact or a bad connection in a cable or connector of the electrical system.
A communication problem between the closter (the instrument panel) and the PCM (the engine control unit).
A defective or disconnected sensor that prevents the correct operation of the engine, such as the crankshaft position sensor, the temperature sensor, the fuel pressure sensor, etc.

As you can see there are many possibilities so to correctly diagnose the problem, I recommend that you take your vehicle to a Ford specialized workshop or use a diagnostic machine to read the fault codes that your car may have. Thus you can identify the exact cause of the failure and solve it.

Have you been able to read the fault codes?
