If we use network units on our computer, we may once meet the following problem. We need to install a program in a network unit, we execute the installer as administrator, we will choose the network unit where we want to install and… mysteriously we do not have any network unit.

Linked connections is deactivated in our registry

This happens because Windows 10 brings deactivated in the "EnabelinkedConneccs" Registry, this acts as a security layer that prevents the administrator from accessing the network units mounted by other users.

The way to solve it is very simple, we just have to go to the search for Windows, we write regedit and execute it as administrator.

Already within the Regedit, we move to the following registry key:

[HKey_local_machine \ software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Currentversion \ Policies \ System] "EnabelinkedConneccs"

We edit the value of enabledLinkedConneccions and replace 0 by a 1.

Once the operation is carried out we can restart the equipment or forces the update of group policies.

For this second option we must go to Windows first and put CMD, we chose to execute the system symbol as administrator and write:

Gpupdate.exe /Force
