Volkswagen has been developing a complete family of electric models that cover a wide variety of segments, now it has reached the turn of the classic Bulli van, since it has developed a 100% electric version, the Volkswagen E-Bulli.

This model was going to be revealed in Techno Classica 2020, but the cancellation of the event for the world crisis of Coronavirus has forced VW commercial vehicles to make it known virtually.

But let's talk a little about the novelties that this classic reissued. The exterior continues to keep all its charm since, it is based on a 1966 T1 Samba, adding a striking 2 -tone paint (Energetic Orange Metallic and Golden Sand Metallic Matte). However, some things such as optical groups have been modernized abroad, which are in E-Bulli of LED technology.

With respect to the inner cabin, with capacity for 8 people, although a retro air is still maintained thanks to its bicolor design and solid wood upholstery, it has actually been significantly modernized since it incorporates, for example, a tablet that serves as an entertainment center.

Where little looks like its classic version is, in the propulsion system. It replaces the original four -cylinder boxer engine with an electric mechanic of 83 hp and 212 nm of torque that is also mounted in the rear position, this provides the vehicle to almost twice as many power as the original, carrying its maximum speed at 130km/h electronically limited.

To deal with the increase in the power of the propulsion system, the Volkswagen E-Bulli chassis has also had to adapt. There are reinforcements of all kinds and a new suspension scheme is introduced. The address and four brake discs also premiere to improve in this area.

A 45 kWh battery is responsible for supplying energy, which allows you to travel up to 200 kilometers. With a quick 50 kW charger, it is able to fill in 80% of its capacity in 40 minutes.
