Uses for distribution draft published by Manual-Mecanica
Greetings to all. I have to change the distribution strap to a Focus TDCI of the year 99. The fact is that, because of the documentation I have I see that it is done with a tooling for which they ask me for more than € 100 and it is not good for me to spend that money. My question is whether someone has done or knows some more domestic way to do so. In principle it seems to me that there should be no problems for doing it by marking some reference points in the camshaft pulleys and in the fuel pump. Perhaps also putting some proper diameter drill in the holes planned for that in the pulleys. The truth is that it seems a bit exaggerated so much special tool to leave the engine in its position.
If someone could give me any alternative I will thank you.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Uteillogue topic for distribution draft
If you can do what you say, it is best to leave the valve cross, with a piston and closed valves, and make the brands of the belt or chain resoe to the tooth where they are easy and simple, once disassembled if you can take out the pulley or pine

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Uteillogue topic for distribution draft
What you tell me reassures me. I have not seen anywhere (from the Internet) that someone does something like that (although I imagine that they should be legion) and uncertainty came in.
Thank you.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Uteillogue topic for distribution draft
If it is PSA DW origin, with some bits as you say, you can do it perfectly, the only one block the crankshaft below the change to the engine wheel (there is a drill coincides in the steering wheel) to remove the screw from the pulley. If the engine is of Ford, care that some models do not wear a key on the pulleys (a Ford Tourneo or Connectt) and I have already seen some "disaster" because of the loosen of the screw and rotation of the pulley and .... greetings !!
