VW Polo Mi 1.6 - 1998 Published by Manual -Mecanica
I have the next problem of difficult solution, when I want to start the car being the hot engine I have to do it twice since in the first attempt it does not start.
Being the cold or detained engine for a long period of time, starts in the first attempt.
I would appreciate everything they can contribute.
Thank you

To difficult problems, easy solutions. Disconnect the temperature probe with the hot car and test to start. If you start well, change the starter engine.

Manual -Mecanica Response on the Re: VW Polo Mi 1.6 - 1998
Can anyone explain what the temperature probe has to do with the starter engine? I can't see the relationship and it is not a pussy.

If you take away the temperature probe with the hot engine (or cold it does not matter) you will have a fault code immediately in the switchboard, however, go to pass as a dosage for cold engine, (rich mixture) with what it is possible that you start better.

But what I can't understand is that if the starter engine turns very cold or hot, why change it ???.

My opinion, which does not have to be the correct one is:

1st spark plugs, possibly too spent, spark excessively long and therefore poor, difficulty igniting gasoline.

2nd If you have electronic accelerator (it does not have accelerator cable in the gas butterfly) it is easy for the oil and the shit that are stuck to the butterfly prevent the entrance of enough air into the collector. If this is so, a rating will be noticed, unstable slowed and tendency to stand when after reducing marches (from third to second and we step on clutch and brake to stop at a traffic light) it is covered or is about to do so.

The solution is easy:
1º Remove the spark plugs and see if they are well
2nd to disassemble and clean the butterfly body and the butterfly of gas with gasoline or diesel and dry with compressed air or a cloth that does not leave threads.

All the best.

First of all thanks to both (Rekobeko and Megabeat_1) for their contributions.
Like Megabeat_1 comment I don't see the relationship with the starter engine.
Now, both talk about the temperature probe and I don't know where it is located.
of
the two that are placed at the exit of the block where the radiator hose is connected? I should disconnect the lower to try ???????
Thank you

Now I explain that it has to do. In these engines 1.6 (I suppose it will be AEA or AEE) and in the TDI (AHF, AFN) a series of boot engines were mounted with few revolutions. With time and wear, this lack of revolutions occurs with the following failure: cold starts well, hot.
Because; very easy. With low temperatures the UCE increases the injection time which facilitates the start of the vehicle. Hot, no.
Remove the temperature probe, causes you a breakdown in the UCE, true. But it also makes it take as a -40ºC defect and provide the engine with an enriched mixture for cold start.
Oscarvazq.: The probe is the one that goes in the butt, in the thermostat box.
