Air conditioning: It smells to moisture published by manual-mecanica
Good night to all. I have a Renault Megane, and for a year it has a problem that when I turn on the air conditioning, an unpleasant and strong moisture smell emanates. Which is then removed about ten minutes of ignition.
Please, if anyone knows where the problem is the solution, I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks

Hello JG Casanova, I had that same problem in my Peugeot, the problem is about the moisture that is stagnant in the channels of the AA ducts that, since it is time without using it, bacteria accumulate that they produce that smell, I tell you how to solve it,
There are 2 ways

1-In any spare parts store sell a spray which you have to dose for the aerators and by the engine where the AA compressor connects (on the other hand it must be dosage with the connected air so that it enters all the holes) These sprays kill these bacteria and with them the smell of me a friend did and I can not tell you where it is said compressor but surely someone here can tell you here.

2nd-when you finish using the AA turn it off but leave the air fan connected 1 or 2 minutes. This will do that the ducts dry and do not humidity inside.

I hope you help you a greeting

Manual-Mecanica response on the re: air conditioning: it smells like moisture
When it smells like moisture it usually happens because the evaporator is dirty because in the air there are dust particles and it is only a matter of time for an evaporator Wash it, as I drop in the year of your megane I don't know which applies to the two options.

Other times it smells worse than moisture, let's say sweaty feet so the evaporator is generally a cooling leak if you have filled it with refrigent for a/c there you have your answer Greetings: Woohoo:
