Ford Transit speed failure published by Manual-Mecanica
Hello everyone. I have a Benimar Sport 345 motorhome, whose chassis is Ford Transit, 2.4 During TDCI 140 hp, MT82 box, 6 -speed manual, rear traction, double wheel and the manufacturing date of the engine 07/28/2008, although I enrolled it dated 03/17/2010.
Now the problem comes: the speed control does not work in the 3rd and 5th marches, however it does in 2nd, 4th and 6th, when according to instructions the control must work from 30 km/h. Specifically, go at the speed that goes, in 3rd and 5th there is never the speed control (when giving it, it does not respond or does anything) and in 2nd, 4th and 6th it always works, perfectly. The striking thing is that it works, not from a certain march, but with interspersed speeds. Moreover, it is curious, it works when in the march I have circulating, the change lever is back and does not work when it is forward.
Fortunately in 6th, which is when it is most used on long routes (highway and faster roads), it works, but, once, I have missed it in 5th, for conventional roads, when they were straight without anyone on the road, especially not to skip the plates of 70 or 80 km/h.
In the workshop they say that in the mechanism of the lever itself there is no sensor that says, to the switchboard, the march that is wearing and they do not give me any response to that failure.
Let's see if someone has an idea about it, that can help me or guide a bit. Thank you so much.
