homocinetic tips published by Manual-Mecanica
I have a Chevrolet Monza 1.8 year 93. Recently I bought four tires of four points all well until it rides the front. It turns out that homocinetic tips stand out at least 3.5 cms. which does not allow the tapas. I have read that the joints fulfill the function of transmitting the torsion effort and not to support the weight of the vehicle. The consultation is whether anyone knows if the homocinetic tips can be cut, if someone has done so and what results they have. If I do it, it will affect the safety of the vehicle for a possible weakening. This is because some mechanics have told me that if it is possible to do so and others that for any reason. 4

Manual-Mecanica response on the RE: homocinetic tips
Aver the modification of vehicle parts is possible but they have to perform with people who are abile and who possess knowledge, if what bothers you is the tip that is free you can cut it, not weakened anything and that the thread that does not deal with does not produce any work, you have to ensure that the cut is even and well done since when you want to take out the homocinetic But not all, you have to anchor yourself, and in trying there is no deception, I would see it as a real and feasible possibility, now if you do not want to cut them by fear, you would have to look for another homo that has the same inner and exterior striatum but that is shorter.

Friend cut them without any fear, what happens is that the type of tip of the Monza is compatible with other Chevrolet cars and in those models the original cover is threaded on the same tip. Cut them and tell me ...
