MK2 golf problem posted by Manual-Mecanica
Hello, I have a problem with a mk2 16v golf, recently it bought it and the car fails a lot, it is fine up to 3 4 thousand turns but from there it starts to fail, it stays like stagnant and it is difficult for it to climb and the longer the march before it does. My theory is that the gasoline pump is not the one that has to carry. Mine is a 1.8 16V with K-Jetronic injection and gives me the sensation that it carries from GTI 8V with Digifan injection. Alguen knows the food pressures to which the 2 cars work? And already placed if anyone knows that transfer deposit it is worth repeating, because I have gasoline pump, but the accommodation is different.

Buf !! What a bump that has kept me !!
If you have not perished when reading it I wait for your answers;)

a greeting!

Manual-Mecanica Answer on the Re: Problem with Golf MK2
Look, the golf with electronic injection uses only one pump, which is going there from the 50-60 pounds; The mechanical injection of the 16V needs much more pressure; These use two pumps; a low pressure (in the tank) and the high pressure, placed under the rear seat on the co -pilot side; This goes above the 100 pounds of pressure.
Do not discard a possible failure in the fuel distributor that occupy these cars; Inside they bring diaphragms that break and cause you that fault; Sometimes even drown because they spend a lot of gas; I hope my advice serves you.
