Since lately, the subject published by Manual-Mecanica
As you should change a distribution strap in a diesel engine, tricks, as you do more easy, I think it can be done; you remove all the protections, we mark with paint the place of the three toothed pulleys, immobilizes the pulleys of the injection pump and the tree of lebas, the engine wheel did not show it to mock them Inside Correa New, we loosen the distribution and camshaft pulleys, we tense the strap waiting for all the brands to be in place and we press the pulleys, it is so, or it should be done in some more complex way, removing the coope Immobilization ecta ecta, it is worth as I have said in principle?

Manual-Mecanica response on the subject Re: since lately, you are talking a lot about
You forgot to say that once you have marked the three pulleys and the three stripes in the distribution strap it is convenient to count the teeth between the three brands and write it down, you also have to make an arrow in the direction of rotation so as not to count the marks backwards.

In the New Correa it will proceed in reverse, that is, the three brands are made based on what we have told and mounted according to the arrow that we have made to determine the direction of rotation.

The three brands in the new belt must coincide with each of the brands in the camshaft pulleys, crankshaft and injection pump /high pressure generator (although the latter does not carry this draft)

made this, two turns are given to the engine in its direction in its direction and it is verified that although the Correa marks do not coincide, there has been no impact of valves on pistons.

All the best.

Hopefully all straps were as easy as in the case of XU9D, (Citroën 1.9D). It is not necessary to lift the camshaft lid to make sure because many people will not see anything (the one who does not know is like the one who does not see)

note in the XU9D and Xu9dte engine, the drafts are:

in the camshaft a screw of m8 x 35 mm long that is threaded between a hole in the tree pulley and the cylinder head.

In the injection pump two M8 x 40 mm long screws that are thus between the pump pulley and the support.

In the crankshaft an 8mm diameter pin that must be introduced behind the starter engine into a little hole that is machined in the block, this pin will be stuck in a blind hole made in the inertia steering wheel coinciding with the PMS of the 1st cylinder.

All the best. And for the next C15 you know how it is going !!

Ok, thanks for the explanation, and I don't want to entertain you a lot, but I have a question, the cylinder PMS first that would be just before it opened the exhaust valve, I'm wrong?
