Friend has to put a piston in PMS and the camshafts on the opposite side The synchronizing strap have a gutter each that has to stay in horizontal position to introduce a tool that keeps them in place (you can make it yourself with an iron plate) and thus the engine is synchronized. Luck.
You may have damaged valves if the draft is very outdated ... This engine (at least 1.4 Zetec) does not carry a key on als pulleys, not even in the crankshaft ... as the fellow Ariell2000 tells you See measuring the hole of spark plug No. 1 with a king's foot (eg).
