Chevrolet 250 oil pressure published by Manual-Mecanica
Good evening .. I tell you my problem, a little more than a year ago, I bought a C10 pick up from 68, with 250 engine, baquete baastor, but beautiful for my eyes, after a time of using it, I noticed that the oil pressure was not the best so I decided to do the engine, when I disarmed it I wanted to kill myself but with a lot Pistons, standard heading, oil pump, cylinder cover made Anueva, I think that everything, I have it in the workshop because since the disarmament was integral, and now it is in the way the sheet. Monton de Laburo. In these days the radiator puts the radiator, to buy the oil precion and the motor temperature, the pressure when lighting it was in 40 pounds, the issue is that when the temperature arrived at 70º the precion began to lower, up to 10 pounds (always regulating). What scares me considerably. The question is the following, is this oil precion drop normal? And what is the normal pressure of this engine? If they can help me, I will thank you very much, and but also !! Hold the iron

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Chevrolet 250 Oil Pressure
Hello. Oil pressure will always lower with the normal operating temperature. As an annex data I can add that the pressure is taken at 1500 rpm and maintain the stable revolution range for a while checking that in that range the pressure does not lower, if it is maintained in 1 bar (14.7 pounds) it could be considered as normal. since the engines are not built to function in idle (it causes enough damage)
do not forget to take into account the degree of lubricating oil you are using and also the advice of the other colleague measuring again the slack of the crankshaft with respect to the metals.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Chevrolet 250 Oil Pressure
Thanks for the councils, about 2000 laps the pressure reached almost 20 pounds, it was not satisfied so I took the work of disarming the carter, to send to try the pump, when I took it out I discovered that the bottom of the carter had a dirt that remains of the rectified, just like the sucking, so I decided to disarm it completely, in order to clean all the block circuits, and send the pump. The crankshaft is at 0.20 !!
