GREETINGS.

The crankshaft pulley screw I think is in a schedule for tightening I have never exploded an engine like this but some of Mercedes if I have ex -right and are usually tightened to the right. (To loosen left)

This week I am disassembling a ML 200.
Only Mercedes's philosophy is to put screw retainer as if it were free.

To block the crankshaft you have a way that never fails.

Go to scrapping buy an inertia steering wheel with teeth.
Cut a piece and make a tailored piece to block the crankshaft.

It is mounted by removing the starter engine.

Finally do not let go of the crankshaft pulley without having wandered it.
Why do you know if you have a chavetreo?

All the best.

The custom piece sounds pretty good, I don't know if it carries a key in the Damper, but in the piñon of the chain I should carry, it is a good question anyway, there is someone who can pass me an exploded manual to find out?

Thank you very much to everyone, you are great.

Good

I tell you as a rare anecdote where they find them, that what seemed like a broken grocery pulley has turned out to be the tip of the departure crankshaft, which is already rare in itself, but the strangest thing is that the engine starts perfectly, it has turned out that the break is not clean but has a U -shaped shape and drags the distribution without problems, in order to live to see.

Greetings to all
