It can be both cylinder head and problems with thermostat or water pump. If the water has not lost level or sleeves have been hard as stones, it is as simple as the thermostat has been stuck and does not let water pass to the radiator, so that it is not refrigerated.
On the other hand, if the water pump had been broken, it would lose water for the same pump and the antifreeze trace would be seen.
If an engine burns the butt joint, loses compression, and if you lose compression, failure, go to three cylinders, smoke water vapor due to the exhaust (despite being already hot), the water is seen and does not see where ... it shows.
So do what the partner says, expect it to be hot, and look to see if the sleeve that goes to the radiator burns when touching it. Look also if the radiator panel is hot or cold because if it is hot it will mean that the water circulates (thermostat, water pump well) and if not then it will mean that or the water or the engine does not circulate it has air or gases inside the cooling circuit (chunga butt joint if the sleeves are hard).
All the best.
