Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Honda Civic 94 crankshaft pulley (mechanic
If it were my case, I would not change the engine, unless it is in very bad conditions in general and that repairing it was more expensive than changing it.

You should keep in mind that changing a new piece that enters another already worn can create inconveniences by adjustment. It should be evaluated that more should be replaced.

Finally, it is possible that you should make a general repair to ensure that everything works properly and if that is the case, a newly repaired engine (eye, well repaired and with good quality parts) is better than a used engine that does not know how it comes or where.

Hello friends, I comment that apparently that is a common failure in some Honda engines since the same happened to me and my mechanic told me that they had already taken some cars with that problem.
The best thing is if the pocket allows it to repair the engine since if it is done efficiently, an engine will have for many years, since the certainty will be held that its vital parts are new; The opposite of a used engine as you may take 1 day, 1 week 0 1 year who knows how much time.
In the end if you are going to invest money that is in something that ensures a good function for a long time.
In my case I made the effort and repair the engine at the end I spend approximately 30% more than I had cost me a used engine, but with the difference of the warranty of new parts.

Waiting for your comments.

Note:
The Honda suffer this problem and it is because of the torque that should be given to the crankshaft pulley ...
