Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.8 TPS problems published by Manual-Mecanica
Hi:
I have a Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.8 16V (2000). For a while now, the engine is fatal. Do not take speed and when you squeeze the accelerator (for example at crossing or so) instead of accelerating, it is as if you drown, reaching the point of turning!
Maneuver with the velocida bja is unchistant, since it accelerates or turns off alone.
As the mechanic told me, the problem is in le tps or (I think it also called it ... butterfly sensor).
The issue is that according to this, this sensor is not loose. That you have to buy the entire module and that are about € 400 (separate labor).
My questions are
where can I get this loose TPS?
Can anyone take a hand, have I indicated where the aforementioned \ "gossip \" goes and how to replace it?

Salu2 and thank you very much your time

Where are you from? I tell you because if you are from Madrid or near I can recommend you to someone or take a hand to find the gas butterfly position sensor.

If the sensor is from Bosch, the Pedro Sanz workshops network can get the piece for the reference, (it is one of the Bosch Car Service suppliers).

Anyway, when a butterfly position sensor is seen, the breakdown light is turned on, since it carries a reciprocal system of information that is the one that allows the engine to continue walking despite being the defective piece and accounting for the switchboard that something weird is happening in that piece.

If the fault light was not lit, it could be an undue air intake in the intake manifold, so that despite the fact that the flowmeter and the butterfly sensor are fine, air enters the street without the switchboard being \ "knowing \" and falsify the data and the proportion of the mixture.

Result, the engine accelerates alone (when the lambda probe detects that the mixture is too poor), when accelerating to advance or leave the pass Light no light anywhere, that is the symptom.
