In the Autodata it says that the Corolla does not carry scheduled maintenance light, but a fault light.
The corolla verse however it has a light, but it is only for the change of oil, it puts oil change and is located to the right of the whole in the painting.
So I think something has happened then and the switchboard has detected a fault code. Try to mouth the battery for a whole night to see if it is reset and the fault code disappears. If it disappears and the light does not turn on again, there is no problem, if it turns on again, there is an engine failure and if so, the scanner will have to pass (and of course if the light does not turn off when you connect the battery again the battery will also have to pass the scanner).
All the best.
