Ford Focus 2000 problem published by Manual-Mecanica
I have a problem, my car is a Ford Focus 2000 Automatic Transmission, the Check Engine was turned on and at the same time as the hydraulic direction began to fail and make noise when it turns to the top, what I thought was that the pulley of the hydraulic direction began loosening, but when I checked the pulleys, notic Turning lightly differently, as if it began to loosen, I suppose that this pulley is that of the crankshaft and the cogwheel is used for the crankshaft position sensor and that is why the check Engine was turned on, what I would like to know is whether this caused the direction to start working badly, and know how to repair this pulley, and what it caused to turn like this.

You have been left with the crankshaft pulley knife, and this is a huge whore.

The fault light was lit because the collector who goes in the tooth wheel sent incorrect information about the engine position (logical because the pulley does not rotate synchronized with the crankshaft because the chavetero is broken).

Now, you have to disassemble that pulley and examine in what state the sticker's tip has remained, since if the crankshaft is fine and only the key was broken, because another new one already puts run.

If the key and throat were broken on the pulley, then ... it is a bit more expensive because you have to change the two things but ... well

now, if the key was broken and the tip of the crankshaft was broken, the engine must be removed, disassemble the crankshaft of the bench and connecting rods and proceed to replace or repair it. Or make the decision to put another engine, drain, or exchange or ...

there is also the option to remove the gearbox, the torque converter, and with the engine still in the car to disassemble the crankshaft and perform the repair.

In either case, I really hope that this does not happen to you because your pocket will notice.

Greetings and will you tell us something ok?

Keep that all vehicles with hydraulic direction sound when they take them to the stops, and sound even more when you have under the hydraulic liquid or the air of the tires if you caring normal and does not stop or give pulls or anything strange, check first the cash and direction oil, your car when automatic being with low levels of oil tends to warn you in some way to avoid spoiling the box. With trying, I had a Chevrlet automatic truck that did not start me, then it starts and parades and it was because I didn't have the automatic box oil, luck
