Nesto helps:
I have a 1996 4x4 manual Ford, and a while ago when the 4 -wheel is connected and when turning left or right in the front traction you feel a strong shake as homocinetic skip (the same ways are still the same), when nothing goes on, except except when it goes up strongly. The entire mechanical part is reviewed: S

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Ford Explorer 1996 Transmission
I do not believe that Ayas checked the entire mechanical part, if it were so, the problem was already discovered, the truth that this type of failure is difficult to save them when you do not have the vehicle to observe well and personally slam the noise, if it is dry as a blow it may be that the problem comes through the butterflies of the 4x4, you can have crooked or misaligned, or not tightly firm They normally fail and some of the supports, then the rest, could check the oil from the box and be to be that it does not have metallic particles, since you can have a wear of the components.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Ford Explorer 1996 Transmission
I have felt that failure in the explorer, I recommend that you place the Scaner, the coupon in the transfer is electric and works with a module, if there is electrical failure it must have the code in memory, the fault can be caused by an intermittent disconnection of the 4x4 that when rotating it is manifested since the mechanism does not support the effort, it is probable that it has damage to the magnetic coil of connection, in a band that has inside or decoupling by internal pieces very worn in the tranfer.

I hope it is useful.
greetings.

Remove the transfer and I found the filter of the total pump mind and the chain with a little wear but nothing important, not to skip I think that the most serious thing is the lubrication since it only lubricated by splash and had no precion on the friction discs still do not armo it because we want to change the oil pump with the filter and the chain but the spare parts are quite scarce
. and as a vacation sago when it returns.
