MY RANGER 1998 Motor problem published by Manual-Mecanica
Greetings to all ...
I just changed my city ... Here are many streets with some very pronounced slopes ... The fact is that my American ranger 1998, 2.5l, 4 standard cylinders, began to fail when the slope was rising somewhat pronounced from a street, there were a few meters to reach the top when the engine lacked strength and began to tremble like crazy Clutch (cluth) and the brake, the engine returned to normal, accelerates again to finish climbing and did the same again and began to smell of burned oil, I had to descend to the planada tried again and again did the same. They could help me what could be.
Note: In the flat streets the car is like fish in the water.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: problem with the engine of my Ranger 1998
Marintense I always recommend two things for cases such as yours, first to make a basic refinement, this is a change of spark plugs, air and fuel filter, to rule out that it is just a bad combustion problem, but for what you say and the data that you deliver the problem you have is the clutch disc and the smell you felt like it was not oil but the disc burning. When this component begins to fail, it is formed when you ask for strength and in plane or less pronounced slopes it is not appreciated, but if you do not change it, it will be committed to feeling already to give problem, you feel that when you put the fifth march and accelerate it, it does how it accelerates but does not get it?

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: problem with the engine of my Ranger 1998
If it is a gasoline ranger, with carburetor, it may be that the floating of the caburetor is running out of level, (a rare thing).
Most likely is what Kikemec comments, clutch problems, skates when it should make more strength, the tremor is also a clutch skating symptom, try in a high change (4th) accelerate thoroughly and control the RPM, if they rise suddenly and the vehicle does not increase the speed, it is a clutch skating sign.
Good luck, comment how the subject follows!
