Super problem Ford Focus posted by manual-mecanica
Hello, please I need to help me, I have a problem with my Ford Focus ZX5 year 2006, American, automatic version.

The problem is as follows, when I turn it on, the car is quite accelerated, and there is no way to regulate that, then, when I give it normal, but when the change is 2a, the car gives a super blow, then the other changes makes it normally. When it is put in setback, the car does not go back, that is, it does it but after a while, it is put in R and press the accelerator and the car accelerates but does not go back, after about 2 sec. The car goes back but with force giving a blow, and well sometimes, they are not always few times, the car goes out of nowhere. I hope you can help me. thank you.

It is purely a problem in the gearbox, but it is very difficult for you to repair it yourself, even for mechanics that are not specialized in this subject, I recommend you send it to repair, in any case as data there is a kind of injection body inside the box, which are valves that open under a certain precion when they do not and open to a higher pressure, hit this blow.

Hello that is true you will not be able to repair it, you will have to take it to a specialist, check the level of the hydraulic fluid. (With the engine on !!!!!) If you check the hydraulic with the off engine will mark you that is fine. But no, it's wrong. Cars with automatic marches measure the level with the engine running. I hope it serves you

I have had that type of cars, because I will tell you that you can do the following: Check the transmission oil level with the engine on but with the Position change lever D (of course with the help of another person), check what level it has, then verify the color of the oil, it should be red, if you see them brown or brick color it has already lost its properties it is time to change it can also smell it can also smell and if It would be that there is wear of the discs, but I recommend that before changing the oil it is good to remove all the oil from the tray that is under the box removes all the screws and then check if there are metal recurrences in the background to verify wear and disassembly the filter of the same, you can wash the filter with gasoline or with a carburetor cleaner they usually change when they are broken at the time because they are short of the time. From that cleaning, put the filter and add gray silicon to the tray and put it screw and add new transmission oil, you can do this maintenance.

I would not install gray silicon on the carter lid, it is quite likely that some part of the particle will go inside the gearbox incurring more additional problems.

Almost always the filter kit brings the packaging and filter (it is the most advisable to change both) and verify the type of oil recommended by the manufacturer.

Verify that the oil box radiator is free and working correctly is also a good tip.

Verify with a diagnostic equipment to see if you have any fault code the gearbox.
