Tercel 1998 - Low revolutions and turns out published by Manual -Mecanica
Hello everyone,

I would like you to give me an idea of what could be the problem of my vehicle. It is a Toyota Tercel, year 1998, with carburetor and manual transmission.

The problem is that the revolutions are lowered (normal have told me that it is 700-800), in recent days it no longer passes from 500 rpm and sometimes when I walk slowly or stop, it goes out. When I turn it on, I have to accelerate it to start.

I would like to have an idea what the problem is before taking it to the mechanic

thanks

Manual -Mecanica response on Tercel 1998 - low revolutions and turns off
Try regulating the idle acting on the butterfly adjustment screw, (it may have been loosening), according to which carburetor wears, they can influence several things such as having a low fuel pressure, a broken membrane of some actuator, etc ... The wealth screw on low, which is what you can say to the workshop if you cannot do it: that they adjust the slowdown and the emissions (CO), for this it is convenient to have clean air filter and spark plugs in good condition. Look at the electrical regulator fails a lot in the Tercel. What I am missing scheme the 98 is multipunto injected with Twincam engine, I don't understand how the carburetor you say.
