After the interest that raised the past post entitled Do you want to be a pilot for a day? I have decided to write this other where it is explained how you can become a professional pilot through the Play Station game "Gran Tourism" and the GT Academy.

GT Academy is a collaboration between PlayStation® and Nissan that uses the Gran Turismo® game to discover potential talents for careers. GT Academy has been running 4 years in Europe (United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Benelux, Austria, Switzerland and Poland) and has recently expanded to the United States and Russia.

GT Academy requirements
The participation requirements are as follows: being a legal resident of any of the countries mentioned above, being over 18 years old, having a driving license, not having a criminal record, being in possession of a valid passport and being able to obtain the corresponding visa to enter the country where the territorial final is held, have a PlayStation®Network account (a PSN account (a PSN account in the same country. Permanent residence of the participant, to have a good state of health in accordance with the medical requirements of Motor Sports Association, not having a previous contract as a race pilot, not to have a national license to or higher from MSA or equivalent in any recognized ASN of the FIA, not have competed at the national level in a Karting championship more than two complete seasons and not have competed in the stage of the Race Camp (or in the stage equivalents) in no other GT Academy competition.

Phases of the GT Academy Championship
First stage (GT Academy Europe)
The online rating of the GT Academy is open to anyone with a PlayStation®3. The 16 fastest players in each territory can access national finals. A maximum of 16 more participants will be able to access the national final through a series of Live Gran Turismo®5 events.

Second stage (GT Academy Europe)
for the GT Academy Europe, more than 32 classified of the first stage will access the national final of each territory. A total of six winners will leave each participating territory of the GT Academy to participate in the GT Academy Race Camp in Silverstone.

Third stage (GT Academy Europe)
36 will compete in the legendary Race Camp, where only one will rise with the crown of the European GT Academy championship and will be invited to participate in an intensive program of Driver Development. The winner will be prepared to obtain an international racing license before competing in the 24h of Dubai, which are played in January 2013.

GT Academy 2012
is currently developing the third stage of the GT Academy 2012 that began the registration period in March and began last May. Previous winners of the GT Academy
The previous winners of the GT Academy are now a competition pilots. In 2012, Lucas Ordoñez (Spanish, winner of the 2008 edition), has played the European Le Mans Series and the 24 hours of Le Mans with the Greaves Motorsport Nissan team and with an LMP2 prototype; Jordan Tresson (French, winner in 2010) is playing the FIA ​​resistance world championship in addition to the 24 hours of Le Mans with another LMP2 prototype of the Signaterch Nissan team; Jann Mardenborough (United Kingdom, winner in 2011), competes with a GT-R GT3 in the Blacpan Endurance Series and the British GT championship.
