MAF fault? Posted by manual-mecanica
Good evening, I doubt the function of my Ford Ka's 4 -wire MAF. Let's see what you tell me: the car starts in the first attempt, accelerated, 2000/min, after 5 seconds approx. GRALENTI is normalized. Being at operating temperature and starting it makes it accelerated but 1200/min. Controlled: IAC, TPS, ECT. cabling. So my question is yes: the failure of this sensor can this problem do? Or do I place myself in any possible false air entry? I already changed all the admission sleeves and also aim at the change of the admission collector board ... the scanner does not throw any fault, none. The measurements made with multimeter with respect to mass, gives me a cable with 12 VCC and another with 0.72VCC with a stopped engine, the other two cables give me 0V. If they can guide me with a data I would greatly appreciate !!! Greetings

Manual-mecanica response on the topic MAF failure?
If you do not have false air shots and you say the rest is fine, and it does not pull any code, go measure the fuel pressure on the ramp to check the gasoline regulator both (2.7 2.7 bar of regulated pressure) and stopping it, to see if the pressure falls quickly and it is that some injectors do not close well and from there that when you start it is "richer" of mixture " until it stabilizes.
Therefore, checking the flow, I do not know the input and exit voltages of this and if the polyimetter is not very precise you can falsify the reading and take you to error, but I think that if you can measure its resistance (disconnected) in the thread and also in the air temperature bulb. Greetings!!

Manual-mecanica response on the topic MAF failure?
Thanks Ismael53. I have changed the admission collector board, and everything remains the same. -The Board was about to break in a short time in the sector where the water duct is- I did not realize in that to try the injectors when I had them outside the admission collector. Fuel pressure meter I do not have so that I will try to get some, and I will also try the injectors to which I only measured their resistances and are giving similar values (16,3/16.7 ohms).
And if an injector drips or does not close well or pulverizes too much, would you have to feel smell of gasoline? Because it does not pull smoke or smell of gasoline .... greetings

If when you stop the engine, it does not close any injector. Pressure pressure on the ramp, if it is a lot, it will be and late in lighting, it is a suggestion to check the pressure, because it does not detect the ECU if there is a fault, you can look at the spark plugs also to see if they burn well equally .. nor Tapones you can see if RPM lower). Anyway, many will tell you that Fords have problems with the IAC that is grabbed ... they are possible causes of the problem you have.
