German and European statistics speak for themselves: an anti -lock brake (ABS) system on a motorcycle is the most effective assistance system to improve driving safety. Therefore, since 1993 BMW Motorrad has been equipping a series of models with ABS and has now decided to equip all models with ABS, before its mandatory installation in 2016 arrives.
As of January 1, BMW Motorrad is the world's first manufacturer to give ABS, as standard, all its new models.
BMW Motorrad also marks technological guidelines with its ABS: the very sophisticated brake system offers assistance to the motorist and guarantees that the motorcycle can be controlled intuitively even when extreme braking maneuvers are carried out. This is possible thanks to the combination of ABS, Traction Control (DTC) and inclination measurement.
BMW Motorrad has promised to guarantee the safety of its motorists and act proactively to convert their motorcycle into the absolute number one in regards to the performance and response of the brakes. For this reason, the brand's corporate website offers a special section explaining all the systems that their models in active and passive safety have, under the name of “360 security”.
