Lexus launches the GS 250 version, with three different finishes and a very competitive standard equipment: browser, 12.3 ”, Mark Levinson Audio System, Bi-Xenon lights, Smart Entry, Alarm, Electric seats and 17” alloy wheels. In addition, the new GS 250 incorporates a 209 hp V6 engine with rear -wheel drive, which has a combined consumption of 8.9 liters/100km, and with emissions of 207 g CO2.

The three versions available for the Lexus GS 250 are GS 250 Drive, with all the serial equipment mentioned above, GS250 Plus that incorporates leather seats, 18 ”wheels, and parking sensors and GS 250 F Sport, a version that differs from an aesthetic and more sporty equipment (19” F Sport tires, electric seats with 16 adjustments with lumbar and pélvic Automatic road light drive (AHB), sunroof and AVS suspension with Sport S+driving mode.

GS 250 characteristics

The 4GR-FSE V6 2.5 engine with direct D-4 injection, develops a maximum power of 209 hp at 6400 rpm, and a maximum torque of 253 nm/4800rpm. It is the engine that currently assembles the IS 250, with admission optimization (flowmeter, valves and admission duct), and the escape (new catalyst to reduce emissions, in line with Euro5 regulations).

In the development of GS 250, the design team concentrated on the sound of the engine. A quiet and silent sound of relaxed driving was necessary, but on the other hand a stimulating sound and exhaust in sports driving. Both were apparently incompatible.

The team that developed the sound of the V10 engine of the LFA, dedicated itself to achieving this effect, and did so through a device called Intake Sound Creator. It is a system that increases the acoustic pressure of the frequencies that are pleasant to listen to the human ear.

The sound that occurs during the acceleration in half regime is light and relaxed, and stimulating and sports at high regime. Then, a pulsation shock absorber receives the vibrations of engine admission, and amplifies the most pleasant frequencies to the ear, through the amplitude of opening a gate.

6 speed gearbox Auto
The gearbox incorporates cams in the vorate and a M mode for manual control. In M mode, the driver can select the marches during driving by "+ (UP)" and "- (Down)", using the gear lever or cams on the steering wheel. The M mode emphasizes the response and the sensation of sportsmanship. For example, from the 4th speed, block the torque converter for a direct motor response.

A hydraulic control system performs a quick and precise gear change, while at the same time electronic management controls motor revolutions at the right level for easy displacement and ascending change, reaching a time of change transition of only 0.3 seconds. This technique is also used in the change of descending marches in the Sport mode, and in manual mode (M). For a descending change of gears faster, the revolutions are increased slightly, reducing the
change time of 0.6 seconds to only 0.2 s.

Internally, the main differences are the leather -lined gear lever, boot button, display (no hybrid potentiometer), and cloth seats (available in the GS 250 Drive finish).
