The Beetle Cabrio continues a unique car history, since it takes over from the original Beetle Cabrio (type 15), released in 1949, and the New Beetle Cabrio of 2002.
His silhouette has turned all Beetle generations into cult vehicles. Beetle Cabriolet were produced . With the creation of the latest version of Beetle Cabrio , Volkswagen has reinterpreted the timeless design of past times and has given the silhouette a more sporty and dynamic aspect. The combination of a flatter roof line and a more vertical windshield reminds the silhouette of the legendary Beetle Cabriolet original.
The new model also incorporates design criteria of the most current Volkswagen range : air intake under bumper, the smooth contour of the lower edge of the hood and especially the rear headlights show the close family ties. As in the nostalgic icon, the front headlights maintain their classic rounded shape.
Another element that contributes to the charm of the new Beetle Cabrio is the traditional capota . When it opens, it is folded very flat, which allows you to have a good rear view. Despite its compact construction, the roof has a very wide and elongated shape, and opens and closes in a totally automatic (in all models) in about ten seconds and even a driving speed of 48 km/h .
The Beetle Cabrio includes a cover for the hood. The chromed edge accentuates the separation between the body and the hood. As in the Beetle Coupe, the dashboard, the control picture or the additional glove compartment, they have a unique exclusive design for this model.
The Beetle Cabrio is a complete four -seater vehicle , with a trunk that exceeds 225 liters of capacity and includes a folding rear bank symmetrically that allows to transport larger objects, even when the roof is closed.
To offer more safety in case of accident, Volkswagen has developed an active antivuelco protection system , formed by two extendable modules installed inside the vehicle in an integrated way after the backing of the rear seats. If the vehicle is going to overturize, the two anti -uelco modules are activated through the central display unit of the airbags. Together with fixed pillars, they supply effective protection for the occupants of the four seats in a matter of milliseconds. Another extra security element is the front and thorax front airbags, which are standard.
The new Beetle Cabrio will be available with seven motor options . The input version is a highly efficient 105 hp 1.2 TSI (77 kW). The other gasoline engines are the 1.4 TSI dynamic and version 2.0, which deliver 160 and 200 hp (118 and 147 kW), respectively. In the Diesel section, Volkswagen offers the 1.6 TDI of 105 hp (77 kW) and the 2.0 TDI, which delivers 140 hp (103 kW).
In Germany, the new Beetle Cabrio can be requested from November , with prices that start from 21,350 euros.
