Peugeot will present in Geneva the 508 RXH model that expands and culminates the 508 range with an original body.
With its widened roads in 40 mm and a upper 50 mm height, the new Peugeot exhibits a specific presence without renouncing the qualities of range 508 (lender, elegance and status). The use of forged tires of 18 '', unpublished at this level of the range, has allowed designers to chise very thin wheels with an inner diameter increased by 10 mm. The result is a dynamic and elegantly over-elevated silhouette.
The 508 RXH also has body reinforcements of a satin gray color that wraps the car in its lower part. Starting from the lower part of the front bumper, this line extends through the wheel steps and the low of the body's sides until reaching the rear bumper.
On the front, the grill is now larger, especially in its lower part. To achieve this result, the designers were based on aeronautical references inspired by the turbines of the airplanes. In this way, the air is channeled perfectly around the grill that seems to be separated from the front hood.
Distinctive for its lines, the 508 RXH will be the first Peugeot to use the emblematic motion of the claw in the front. Its LED diurnal lights draw 3 claws, recognizable both day and night. This aesthetic firm can be completed with the orange lighting of the 7 electro-luminescent diodes of the LED cannon that perform the intermittent function.
Interior design
The design minimizes the game between the different pieces that make up the dashboard. And it is also key in the control lever that integrates the rotating selection control of the Hybrid4 driving modes and in the change of change. Halfway between a traditional lever and a computer mouse has been baptized as the 'Manettino'.
Blank retro-cumination has been generalized in the 508 RXH passenger (instrumentation, screens and different areas illuminated inside the vehicle).
The use of noble materials and new colors, mostly unpublished, enhance the distinctive character of 508 RXH. For example, aluminum used, with a degraded varnish, is used for the first time in a dashboard, which suggests the electricity used by Hybrid4 technology, this decorative element can be dyed in a degraded degraded in copper color. This formula, unpublished too, extends subtly by the cabin with stitching also in this tone. On the outside and by coloring the flashes of the brown color, exclusive tone for 508 Rxh, we meet this coppery color.
For the upholstery it is possible to choice of leather with a light -colored sewer with an innovative laser recorded plot. Depending on their tastes, the client can also choose between the club leather or a semi-cuero trim, available in different colors.
2.0 L HDI FAP 120 kW (163 hp) thermal engine (163 hp)
With a displacement of 1,997 cm3, this engine develops a maximum power of 120 kW (163 hp) at 3,750 rpm as well as a maximum torque of 300 Nm to 1,750 rpm. It has a new ECCS type generation combustion chamber (Extreme Conventional Combustion System), a low -inert variable geometry turbocharger, a high pressure pump that allows you to reach 2,000 bar in the common injection ramp, and eight -holes piezoelectric injectors. Since it is logical, this block has particle filter (FAP), of “octagonal” type, with a filter with EOLYS additive.
The electric motor
Synchronous type with permanent magnets, the electric motor continuously develops a power of 20 kW (27 hp) and up to 27 kW (37 hp) in a timely manner. In addition, it generates a continuous pair of 100 nm or 200 nm on crest. Its perfect dimensioning in terms of benefits and power have allowed a compact engine, skillfully located inside the multibrazo rear axle.
The PTMU (Power Train Management Unit)
The PTMU is an electronic supervisor that automatically manages, and without driver intervention, the different modes of operation of the two engines, the thermal and the electric to seek the lowest possible consumption.
To manage electrical power, a modulator and a transformer are used. The modulator intervenes on the pair of the electric motor regulating the current that comes from the high voltage battery pack. This works in a tension margin between 150 and 270 volts. The transformer ensures the conversion at 200 V of the 12 V battery pack to feed the on -board network.
